We had a wonderful time in San Antonio with the family. I do say that this is the first time I have ever had Christmas in a Hotel room. We had a good time. The weather was a bit chilly, but we made the best of it. We even tackled the outlets in San Marcus. We also visited a Wildlife Safari. It was a blast! The animals would come right up to your car, and sometimes even into your car. Scott had a close encounter with an ostrich. Thanks again to our parents and She-she for coming and meeting us to make our Christmas special. I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!!

Love,

Scott, Gayla, Nykia, Cale, and Anslee

Getting ready for Christmas

We hosted the annual children's christmas party at the church. We changed it a bit, and made it a family Christmas party. The children spent time decorating cookies, and making ornaments. After the family party, Scott had a party for the youth. They had a great time making human Christmas trees and a human present. He did a devotion that correlated to "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". This was a devotion about loving those people who are difficult to love. The scripture reference was Matt. 9:36. They also did a dirty Santa gift exchange. Scott ended up with a dolly!!

We had a group here from Sachse, TX for Thanks giving. They arrived Thanksgiving Day. We had tamales waiting for them when they arrived. Since most internationals had to work on Thanksgiving Day, we invited them all over for supper and football! The football, of course, was Scott's idea.
They next day we begin cooking! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for the Children's Home. When we arrived, Marilyn from the group, told the Thanksgiving story and did a craft with the children. We feed about 60 people at dinner time. The children didn't take to well to an American Thanksgiving dinner. They thought it was kinda wierd! They did enjoy the turkey, ham, and of course the SWEETS! We had so much food left over, we had enough to feed the each family from the village of El Higo. On Sat. we went back to the Children's Home. Jenny gave the children haircuts. George and Phillip made a sign for our church. It was a jam packed three days!!
I'm looking forward to Christmas! We will be meeting Scott's parents, my Mom, and my sister in San Antonio for Christmas. I can't wait!! Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving!!
Love, Gayla

Harvest Festival at Church

Kia was a princess, Cale was a fairy, and Anslee was just cute!

Cale playing dress up at Aunt Becca's house.

As most of you know, we went to Texas in Oct. Scott's grandmother passed away. We also visited a couple of Churches while we were in. Granny's funeral was not a sad day. She is home with Lord! She longed to be with her Lord, and Papa! We will surely miss her, but we are so thankful for the legacy she left us. While in Kilgore, we also visited alot of friends and family. We had a surprise 40th birthday party for Scott, and also had a birthday party for Cale at the park. Scott was really shocked!! Cale had a great time at the park.

When we returned back to Saltillo, it was fast and furious. We had to plan the Fall Festival. I couldn't have done it without the help of all the international ladies. They did alot of preparation while I was gone. It was a huge success.

Last week we went back to the border to get Anslee's first shots. We decided to make it a fun time for us all. The kids went swimming in an indoor pool, and I got to go shopping. Well, as much as you can do with 2 babies. We did get the girls picture taken. I think it turned out fabulous.

We are geering up for Thanksgiving. We have a couple of groups coming in. One group the week before Thanksgiving, and one on Thanksgiving Day. Christmas is just around the corner! I can't wait. I love Christmas time! I will try to make a post a little sooner than this one.

God Bless You!

All alone!

Aunt She-She and Anslee.
Nykia and Cale horsing around.
Anslee 3 weeks old!

Well, everyone has gone back to their homes. Scott and Nykia took Memaw and She-She back to the airport at about 3am this morning. We really had a good time together and they sure were alot of help. We should be in Kilgore on the 13th of Oct.. We are planning a birthday party for Cale that next Sat.. I believe it is actually her birthday. Oct. 18th. Someone else's birthday is just around the corner. It's the big 40!!!! Maybe we can plan a dual party for Cale and Dad!

The second house at the children's home is complete. The new set of parents have move in and we are awaiting the arrival of new children. Please be in pray for these new parents as the adjust to life with 12 children. We feel the house will be filled to capacity very quickly.

Please pray for the Tripps and us. We will be attending a Mission conference together in Sachse, TX. Pray for us both as we travel.

We will be also hosting a Bazaar Oct. 3rd and 4th at the international church. This will be a way for the ladies in the village next to the Children's Home to earn money for their families. They will be selling things that they have made.

We will also be having our second Harvest Festival! I'm excited about this. Last year the kids had a really good time. This is our safe alternative to Halloween!

Many Visitors

Sunday at Anslee's dedication.
Memaw made all 3 girls a dress to match!!

We have had many visitors since little Anslee has been born. Nana and Grampy came for about a week and a half. They had to leave a little early because of Hurricane Ike! They made it home safe and sound. Memaw and SheShe arrived a week ago and plan to stay another week. We have enjoyed all the help while I'm trying to recover from the c-section. I'm feeling really good! Recovering really well. We took everyone to visit the children's home on Monday. I think it was really neat for them to actually see what is being done here in Saltillo. They were impressed with the progress that has been made. Everything here is settling down from a fast and furious summer. Getting back into the swing of our daily home schedule. Hope you all have a good day!
